Overview
The vessel owner approached CTS Offshore and Marine to propose a project plan to carry out steelwork in one of their bulk carriers’ cargo hold. After suffering damage to the cargo hold during operations, they needed urgent steel repairs before embarking on their next operation.
Scope of Works
CTS was tasked with carrying out steel repairs on the Australian ladders, vertical ladders, sounding pipe guards, and hatch covers. To ensure a prompt repair, CTS quickly mobilized a team of 30 specialists to execute the work on-site. CTS cooperated with port agents to arrange all work permissions from the authorities and commenced work immediately. A dedicated project manager was assigned to oversee the work scope and guarantee that all work was completed within the time-frame and budget.

Result
Although there were some initial challenges when it came to obtaining hot work permissions from the port, as well as one of the ship’s cranes not working, CTS was able to adapt their strategy to make sure that the project was on track from start to finish. Work was carried out day and night to ensure the project was successfully completed on time.
Client Feedback
“CTS was quick to respond and worked efficiently to meet our schedule. We are very pleased with the quality of work and the professionalism of the team onboard. We look forward to having them on future projects.”
